The demand for a modern look and finish for Swimming Pools is a result of greater consumer awareness  of quality products that look elegant and perform well.

The Italian factories have been producing an Elemento 'Elle' for steps and pool coping now for quite some time.  They are only limited to the factory standard size of 300 x 150 x 50 mm.
When using full bodied porcelain tiles a half round bullnose can be machined onto the exposed edge into the pool. A 50 mm slither of tile can then be glued on the vertical pool edge just under the bullnose. This gives the appearance of an Elemento 'Elle', but without the restrictions  of the one size.
The back of the tile can then be cut to suit the width of the pool band.  A pool mosaic can then be fixed as a waterline tile immediately under the 50mm slither.  Please find below photos demonstating this effect. 

The main tile used in this application was the Lea Ceramiche Technoquartz Silver 600 x 600 mm double pressed porcelain. The waterline tile was the Bisazza Nuvole Plus.
